Three types of professional degrees in architecture are available: a 5-year bachelor’s degree, which is most common and is intended for students with no previous architectural training; a 2-year master’s degree for students with an undergraduate degree in architecture or a related area; and a 3- or 4-year master’s degree for students with a degree in another discipline.


Executive Masters Program - Master Degree in Architecture

The Executive Masters Program is designed for mid-career, experienced practitioners
interested in earning an accredited professional degree. Courses are structured in a convenient weekend format, allowing for the continuation of full-time professional practice, while obtaining the necessary credentials for personal and professional advancement. This program requires completion of a Bachelor of Arts (or Science) in Architecture degree or Bachelor of Environmental Design degree, or a degree in a related discipline in addition to architectural license within the U.S., and five years of documented full-time post-licensure work experience, as a registered architect. Students must complete a minimum of forty-five (45) quarter units.


Master of Architecture (4+2) - Online Masters Degree in Architecture

The Master of Architecture (4+2) degree program is for students who have completed the requirements of a Bachelor of Arts (or Science) in Architecture degree, Bachelor of Environmental Design or another related pre-professional degree. In addition to two to three academic years of full-time study, candidates must complete a minimum of ninety (90) quarter units of credit.


Master of Architecture (5+1)

The Master of Architecture (5+1) degree program is for students already possessing
a five-year or first professional degree. This degree option is designed for students who want to advance their knowledge of the discipline, but are not seeking first-time licensure. This program requires a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Students must complete a minimum of forty-five (45) quarter units.


First Professional Degree - Master Degree in Architecture

The Master of Architecture is the first professional degree and is fully accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB). It is designed for students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in any other field. In addition to three to four academic years of full-time study, candidates must complete a minimum of one hundred thirty-five (135) quarter units of credit.
