Master Degree in Architecture
Three types of professional degrees in architecture are available: a 5-year bachelor’s degree, which is most common and is intended for students with no previous architectural training; a 2-year master’s degree for students with an undergraduate degree in architecture or a related area; and a 3- or 4-year master’s degree for students with a degree in another discipline. The Master of Architecture (4+2) degree program is for students who have completed the requirements of a Bachelor of Arts (or Science) in Architecture degree, Bachelor of Environmental Design or another related pre-professional degree. In addition to two to three academic years of full-time study, candidates must complete a minimum of ninety (90) quarter units of credit. The Master of Architecture (5+1) degree program is for students already possessing The Master of Architecture is the first professional degree and is fully accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB). It is designed for students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in any other field. In addition to three to four academic years of full-time study, candidates must complete a minimum of one hundred thirty-five (135) quarter units of credit.
